Cesario (Cee) Lavery is an illustrator, comics-maker, textile dabbler, educator, and occasional violinist. He grew up between Toronto (the territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples) and Saskatoon (Treaty 6 territory and homeland of the Cree and Métis nations). Cee now lives and works in Montréal (the territory of the Kanien'kehà:ka, which has historically been and continues to be a meeting place for many First Nations, including the Kanien’kehá:ka of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Huron/Wendat, Abenaki, and Anishinaabeg peoples).

Cee has no formal arts training and is chiefly interested in the works of other artists whose process has been unmediated by academia.
